The Combi-Branch

Download Test schedule
2 term 2012

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Kapstadt has restructured the high school (Grade 10-12) after successful negotiations between the governments of the the Republic of South Africa and the the Federal Republic of Germany. Herewith the school follows the development in Germany and Europe to shorten the time spent at school , but retaining the same high academic level.

From 2007 there are two different branches from Grade 10. The DSK students can choose after Grade 9 which academic training would suit them best:
In the NSC-branch the students will graduate after 12 years of education and obtain the NSC (National Senior Certificate) and the DSDII (the German Language Diploma II). Teaching and tests will be largely done in English.

In the combi-branch the DSK students will after 12 years have the possibility to obtain a combined, bilingual training/tuition, graduating with the NSC-certificate and the German international Abitur.  This means that they will have attained the highest possible school leaver's qualification with university entrance in both countries. Teaching and tests will take place, according to the bilingual character, in German and English.
