Our Mission

The German International School Cape Town is a bilingual school of mutual encounter that promotes learning through interaction and harmony between the German and South African cultures. It is based on co-operation between school and parents for the benefit of the students. The school is founded on Christian and humanistic principles. We value the enrichment that comes from interaction with people of different cultures and faiths.

Our Goals

Our goals are:
• To enable the individual student to develop to his or her full potential, both in performance and in willingness to learn
• To promote ethical behaviour, independent thought and mutual respect
• To encourage our students to become critical and independent adults, who are capable of accepting responsibility for themselves and others and thus of making a worthwhile contribution towards an integrated society.

Our Service

The German International School Cape Town offers German-speaking children a Primary and Secondary Education in accordance with German curricula. At Secondary level, the students are taught bilingually according to South African and German curricula. Non-German-speaking children are accepted from grade 5 to learn German intensively and to be prepared for the integrated High School.
School life is enriched by a variety of activities in the fields of music/culture, the sciences and sports. The school enables its learners to acquire the university entrance qualifications for South African and German/European Universities.
